IN CONVERSATION WITH NICOLA STURGEON - 5 Million Questions public event

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will take part in the first of a series of 5 Million Questions "public conversation" events in Dundee next week, only days after the launch of the Government's White Paper on independence.

Nicola Sturgeon is one of the most high-profile politicians in Scotland and a key figure in presenting the SNP's constitutional case for independence.

"We are delighted the Deputy First Minister has agreed to take part in the first of our "public conversations", which will give the public the chance to put their questions to some of the main players in the independence debate," said Professor Christopher Whatley, Vice-Principal of the University of Dundee and Chair of the 5 Million Questions steering committee.

"We are fortunate to be able to host this event so soon after the launch of the Government's White Paper on Independence and the opportunity this provides for our audience to explore some of the issues this raises is both timely and welcome."

The event takes place in at 6pm on Monday December 2nd in the Dalhousie Building at the University of Dundee. David Torrance, Associate Director of 5 Million Questions, will host the event.

It is the first in a series of public conversations that will feature key figures from both sides of the independence debate. These in-depth conversations will help to get beyond slogans and towards the real motivations and substance that shape the national conversation.

Free tickets can be obtained here nicolasturgeon.eventbrite.co.uk or by email at events@fivemillionquestions.org or phone 01382 381296.

5 Million Questions has been established by the University of Dundee to examine the many issues around Scotland's constitutional debate, stimulating wider discussion, applying academic rigour to examination of the issues, and engaging with the public on all aspects of the major questions they are facing.
