Minister for Children and Young People congratulates graduates

Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Children and Young People, will meet the next generation of child service practitioners when she speaks to graduates at the University of Dundee on Wednesday, June 19th.

Ms Campbell will be speaking to new graduates from the BA in Childhood Practice programme at the University. She will also attend the University's Graduation lunch.

Aileen Campbell, Minister for Children and Young People, said, 'Dundee's BA in Childhood Practice is a valuable qualification and I congratulate every graduate who has worked hard to achieve it.

'With Dundee University's courses placing a firm emphasis on high quality learning that will ensure graduates move through their career paths equipped with the right skills and knowledge, the future of early learning and childcare is looking bright.'

Teresa Moran, Associate Dean (Education and Professional Development) at the University, said, 'We are delighted that the Minister has been able to join us today to share in the celebration of success of the BA Childhood Practice students. Their hard work and commitment to excellence in early years education is an inspiration to staff and fellow practitioners.'

The BA Childhood Practice is aimed at childhood professionals,e.g. Nursery Managers, Early Years Officers, Child Care and Development Workers, Child Minders, Out of School Care Workers and Classroom Assistants.

The programme aims to enhance the professional development of childhood professionals supporting a quality service for children and families, to meet the demand for continuous development of skilled and reflective childcare workers and to promote professional development through the interrelationship of professional values, personal commitment, professional knowledge and understanding and professional skills and abilities.
