Meet at front entrance to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design
A giant model of central Dundee - including the proposed new buildings for V&A at Dundee and the railway station - will be viewed by pupils from a city school this week.
The pupils from Glebelands Primary School will be visiting the University of Dundee on Tuesday November 13th, where final-year Architecture students in the School of Environment have been building the detailed 9 square metre model.
The 1:200 scale, laser cut model extends from the Overgate to the waterfront. It shows the new grid layout being created in the central waterfront area, how the Tay Road Bridge will enter the city and some of the new buildings already being planned.
"Our final-year students are working on a project to envision the central waterfront and how it will look in 30 years time," said Graeme Hutton, Head of Architecture and Planning at the School of the Environment.
"We have been working very closely with Mike Galloway, Director of City Development for the City Council, to make sure we are building on accurate plans that are already being made. The model which the students have created is a fantastic tool to see how the city is changing."
The Glebelands pupils are studying the waterfront as part of the new Curriculum for Excellence.
