Dundee ranked among world's best for research

The University of Dundee has been named among the world’s leading centres for scientific research, according to a new league table published today (January 12th).

The Leiden Ranking 2012, which uses a sophisticated set of varied indicators to assess the quality and importance of scientific research at 500 of the world’s top universities, places Dundee 78th overall.

In the key indicator of `mean citation score' Dundee ranks a very impressive 13th in the world and best in the UK.

The publication of the Leiden Rankings follows Dundee's rating among the world's top 200 universities in both the Times Higher World Rankings 2012 and the QS World University Rankings 2012, both announced late last year.
