Wellbeing conference at Dundee
Academics from Durham and Oxford will tomorrow join researchers from the University of Dundee for a mini-conference exploring wellbeing.
A mini-conference on Wednesday, 15th November will see the Dundee-based Space and Society Research Group welcome Dr Tim Schwanen (University of Oxford) and Dr Sarah Atkinson (Durham University) to the city to discuss the usefulness of the term when thinking about health and quality of life.
The event is being organised by the SSRG, with the support of the Social Dimensions of Health Institute, Other speakers at the event include Dr Thilo Kroll and Dr Ed Hall from Dundee. Dr Kroll is Director of the Social Dimensions of Health Institute, while Dr Hall is based in the School of the Environment, which houses the SSRG. All four speakers are renowned researchers on wellbeing.
An audience of academic staff from a range of disciplines, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and colleagues from NHS Tayside with an interest in public health will attend the conference. Questions about what it means to live well, how an evidence base on wellbeing can be developed, and how wellbeing is embodied and performed will be addressed.
The wellbeing conference takes place at the Dalhousie Building from 1-4pm on Wednesday, 16th November.
