Life Sciences students to get careers insight

Hundreds of life sciences students at the University of Dundee will have the chance to explore future job options at a dedicated careers conference on Wednesday March 23rd.

The 2nd annual Life Science Careers Conference has been organised by the student-run Life Sciences Society and the University’s Careers Service and builds on the success of last year's event.

This year there will be a greater number of external speakers from a variety of different local and national employers and organisations such as the Scottish Police Services Authority Forensic Science Services, Onorach Clinical and NHS Tayside.

As well as presentations, students will also have the opportunity to get involved in employer-led interactive workshops related to the Life Science sector.

'This is a great opportunity for our Life Sciences students to get an early look at possible career options,' said Stephanie MacLean, careers adviser at the University. 'The range of organisations we have attending shows the variety of options that are open to Life Sciences students.

'We are expecting to have around 200 students attending, which makes it one of the biggest such events for the sector in Scotland this year.'

The Life Science Careers Conference will be held in the University's Dalhousie Building on Wednesday 23rd March from 1pm to 5:30pm.
