Luca looking to make it a Dundee double in student award
University of Dundee architecture graduate Luca Di Somma will find out tomorrow whether he can make it a rare double for the institution in securing top honours in the UK’s most prestigious student competition.
Luca Di Somma is one of five students from across the country on the shortlist for this year's 3DReid Student Prize - the UK's largest, one-off architecture student award worth £1,500 to the winner
Luca Di Somma has been shortlisted for his project 'The Liberation of Space'.
Last year's prize was won by another University of Dundee student, Alan Keane.
'It is fantastic for the University to have another student on the shortlist for this award after Alan’s win last year,' said Helen O’Connor, programme director of the Master of Architecture course at the University of Dundee. 'Luca's place on the shortlist is thoroughly deserved and we wish him the very best of luck.'
The annual award, which is now into its sixth year, celebrates the best Part II students from schools across the country, with each university nominating their hopefuls. 3DReid is one of the country’s leading and largest architectural practices, with studios in London, Glasgow and Birmingham. Their annual Student Prize is regarded as the most prestigious award for young architects to win.
The overall winner of this year's contest will be chosen by a panel of judges, and is announced on the evening of 21st July.
