Art Exhibition and Sale at Botanic Garden

A new exhibition of more than 100 pieces of work from local artists will open at Dundee Botanic Garden tomorrow.

The Art Exhibition and Sale has been organised by the Friends of the Botanic Garden to raise funds to support the garden. More than 30 local artists responded generously to an invitiation to enter their work in the exhibition, which opens at 10am on Saturday, October 30th.

The items include both framed and unframed paintings in a variety of media, photographic prints and textile pieces as well as items of jewellery. All items are for sale at reasonable prices.

Chairman of the Friends, Frances Tait, said, 'We are delighted with the huge response from local artists. The timing of this event will give people the opportunity to buy original seasonal gifts, or perhaps to invest in locally created art for their own homes.

'At the same time, they will be helping us to fund key projects at Dundee’s renowned botanic garden.'

The exhibition is open at the Botanic Garden Gallery from 10am-4pm each day until Sunday, November 7th. Entrance to the exhibition is free.

A selection of the work can be viewed at www.dundeebotanicgarden.co.uk/artsale.
