Conn Iggulden to talk about dangerous boys - and very dangerous men - in Dundee

Author Conn Iggulden will be invoking the spirit of one of history's most notorious figures at a Literary Dundee event this weekend. He will also read from his hugely popular Dangerous Book for Boys at the event, which takes place at the University of Dundee.

The writer has brought Genghis Khan, the infamous Mongol warlord who wreaked havoc across much of Eurasia during the 12th and 13th centuries, to life in a superb series of three best-selling historic novels focussing on the conquests of Khan and his descendants.

Iggulden, who co-authored The Dangerous Book for Boys with his brother Hal, is best known for his historical fiction. His debut novel, The Gates of Rome, was the first in a four-part series entitled ‘Emperor’, which centred upon the life of Julius Caesar.

He then turned his attention to the Khan dynasty with the 'Conquerer' series, and the third novel of the series, Empire of Silver, which revolves around the life of Genghis’ son Ogedai. was published in September 2010.

With huge energy and page-turning drama, Iggulden has brought some of history's most extraordinary, successful and reviled characters to life, and this gifted teller of tales will be reading from, and discussing, his work at the University of Dundee’s Dalhousie Building from 6pm on Saturday, 20th November.

Tickets, costing £3 and £2 for concessions, are available online at www.literarydundee.co.uk, by phoning 01382 384413, or from the Overgate shopping centre and Dundee Contemporary Arts. The event is suitable for both adults and children, and Conn Iggulden will be signing copies of his books afterwards.
