Rarely seen work from three of Dundee's best known artists will go on show at the University of Dundee this week as part of West Fest, the city’s first festival for the west end.

The University is staging a special summer exhibition celebrating the work of artists Alberto Morrocco, David McClure and James McIntosh Patrick. All three lived in the west end of Dundee and taught at Duncan of Jordanstone College for many years, and all sadly died within a few months of each other in 1998.

'This exhibition features rarely seen works by all three artists as well as their children and families, many of whom have also become successful artists or designers,' said Matthew Jarron, Curator of Museum Services at the University.

Many of the works on show have been lent from the families of the three artists as well as works from the University’s own collections and some impressive large-scale paintings on loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. There are also some fascinating personal items such as a birthday card painted by Morrocco for McIntosh Patrick’s 90th birthday. The exhibition has been put together by the University’s Museum Services in association with guest curator Paola McClure.

The exhibition runs from Saturday June 19th until August 14th in the Lamb Gallery, Tower Building, University of Dundee
