Wheelchair users get the chance to guide service
Wheelchair users and carers will have the opportunity to help develop future NHS wheelchair and seating services at an event taking place in Dundee tomorrow.
The inaugural meeting of the Tayside Wheelchair User and Carer Forum takes place at the Balbeggie Room, West Park Centre between 10am and 2.30pm on Thursday, October 1st.
Wheelchair users and their carers/assistants, and professional staff referring to, or working with, the NHS Wheelchair Service in Tayside are invited to take part in the event and put forward their views on the provision of facilities for users. A light lunch will be provided for attendees.
The purpose of meeting is to:
- establish a discussion forum for everyone with an interest in the NHS Wheelchair Service in Tayside.
- hear views on how the Service should develop in the future to meet the needs of all its users and their carers.
- inform stakeholders on progress with the National Wheelchair Project in Tayside.
The event is supported by PAMIS, the University of Dundee-based charity that works with people
with profound and multiple disabilities. More information is available by contacting Diane Watson
