More than 100 academics, accounting practitioners and business managers from across the world will attend a major international accountancy conference hosted by the University of Dundee next week.
The European Network for Research in Organisational & Accounting Change (ENROAC) International Conference takes place at West Park Conference Centre between Tuesday, 23rd June and Thursday, 25th June.
This is the 7th annual ENROAC International Conference, and only the second time that this prestigious event has taken place in the UK, with previous meetings having taken place at various venues across Europe. The Dundee event will be attended by delegates from as far afield as Japan, New Zealand, USA, Australia and Brazil.
This year’s conference begins with the traditional Practitioner’s Day, sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), from 1pm onwards. A series of keynote speakers will deliver talks concerning Organisations & Sustainability, the theme of this year’s conference.
Organiser John Burns, from the University’s School of Accounting and Finance, said, 'This is a conference that connects the city of Dundee and the University with local and regional organisations, as well as eminent academic scholars in the field of organisational change from all over the globe.'
'It demonstrates the progress that the University’s School of Accounting & Finance, is making, and the reputation of the School. With the continued support of Dundee City Council, our interaction with local and regional businesses is growing all the time.'
A civic reception, sponsored by Dundee City Council, for delegates will be held at Discovery Point immediately after the Practitioner’s Day, and the remainder of the conference will comprise sessions for academic papers to be presented and discussed.
Formed in 1999, the ENROAC network comprises academics, accounting practitioners and business managers who share an interest in management and organisational change.
Keynote speakers at this year’s Practitioners Day include:
- Brendan Dick (Director of British Telecom Scotland).
- Helenne Doody (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
- Eoin Cox, MBE (Director & co-founder of Woodschool Ltd).
- Professor Jan Bebbington (University of St Andrews).
- Professor Jesse Dillard (Portland State University, USA).
- Professor Angelo Riccaboni (University of Siena, Italy).
