University Challenge - Dundee-style!!
Students vs Vice-Principals, Dalhousie Building, Wednesday 8th October 2008 - 6pm
So who are the brightest of the bright - students or academics?? University Challenge comes to Dundee next week with University of Dundee Principal Sir Alan Langlands posing the questions to opposing teams of senior academics and students.
See the gladiatorial contest of the year at the Dalhousie Building Main Lecture Theatre as our brightest students pit their intellect against some of the finest minds in the country. The University team is composed of two of the University's Vice-Principals, Professors Pete Downes and Anne Anderson, and two further senior academics, Professor Trevor Harley, from Psychology, and Professor Julie Taylor, from Nursing & Midwifery.
They will face off against some of the brightest students, handpicked by the Students Association.
'The academics obviously like to think they can teach us a thing or two, but they are in for a big surprise - we have age on our side...,' said Dave Macleod, President of Dundee University Students' Association.
The event is being held in aid of the Diabetes Research Campaign and Youth Link Dundee. Tickets for the event cost just £3 each and are available from DUSA reception or in the external relations office on the fifth floor of the Tower Building, Perth Road.
