Free Literary Salon - 27th November
4pm - 6pm
Thursday 27th November
Michael Schmidt in conversation with Gavin Wallace.
Presented by Kirsty Gunn, Chair of Creative Writing, University of Dundee.
This will be the last literary salon before Christmas and we've got a real treat for you - International Scottish Literature with Gavin Wallace and Michael Schmidt.
Literature Director of the Scottish Arts Council Dr Gavin Wallace and Publisher and Chair of Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow Professor Michael Schmidt will be in discussion with us about how we can find new ways with words that both account for national identities while expanding and enriching them. This will be an exciting and stimulating session - with the added bonus of hearing Michael Schmidt read from his own work.
If you need to know more about the wonderful work of Michael Schmidt, here's a link to his page at contemporary writers - www.contemporarywriters.com/authors/?p=authC2D9C28A1129f25BB1HnG2811B84.
For the last few salons, we've had people who have booked tickets then not turned up on the night - which we understand - but to prevent anyone being disappointed, we're having a reserve list from 3pm on the 27th November - so if you miss out on a ticket beforehand (numbers are very limited) then please do come along on the night and we'll do our very best to squeeze you in.
This event is free, tickets are available from the DCA.
