The Guildry Incorporation of Dundee will present five travel scholarships worth £400 each to conservation students at the University of Dundee on Friday May 23rd.

The Guildry have supported postgraduate students on the European Urban Conservation programme for several years, enabling the students to make study visits to sites of interest across the Continent.

"We are hugely appreciative of the continuing support from the Guildry Incorporation for our students," said Neil Grieve, the programme director. "It makes a huge difference to the students in terms of being able to make these study trips."

The acclaimed European Urban Conservation programme has been running since 1991. It is vocational by nature, and attracts students from a variety of backgrounds such as archaeology geography, history and planning.

It is recognised as a specialist masters by the Royal Town Planning Institute and is fully accredited by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. Graduates go on to work as conservation officers in local authorities and in private practice and in organisations such as the National Trust, Historic Scotland and English Heritage.
