Funfit Easter for kids at ISE

Young people can access a full range of fitness activities from trampolining and tennis to street dance and football at the University of Dundee during the spring break holidays.

The University’s new-look Institute of Sports & Exercise is throwing its doors open to children from three-years-old to those in 3rd year of secondary school. They can book a wide range of classes at the ISE, which has recently opened a new state-of-the-art £4.5million extension.

"Our Easter programmes are always popular and we can’t wait to show the kids all the new facilities here at ISE," said Kelly O’Sullivan, co-ordinator of the Easter programme at ISE.

"There’s a great range of activities kids can sign up for from introductory classes across different sports to more specialised coaching in things like racket courses. But the emphasis will be firmly on fun."

All of the kids programmes being run are from 9 am to noon Monday to Friday and can be booked in week-long blocks. The cost is £42 for children of ISE members and £52.50 for non-members.. Lunchtime supervision of children can also be booked to 1 pm each day.

The courses being offered are:

  • Funfit Club - for 3yrs to P1 and P2 to P4, includes parachute play, run around, play ball, target time and fun cartoon circuits.
  • Junior Sports - for 3yrs to P1 and P2 to P4, activities include mini-volleyball, soccer stars, mini-tennis and fun sports circuits.
  • Racket sports coaching - P5 to P7, includes tennis, squash, badmintion and short tennis.
  • Trampoline coaching - S1 to S3, includes progressive skills, routines and fun games.
  • Street dance - S1 to S3, learn simple breakdance moves, funky hip-hop styles and current pop routines.
  • Sports MAX! - S1 to S3, a range of sports including beach volleyball, tri-golf, touch rugby, team rounders, ultimate frisbee and aqua adventures in the ISE pool.

In a special Easter offer, parents are also being offered a free two-week trial at ISE.
