Sir Craig Reedie to give lecture
Sir Craig Reedie, member of the International Olympic Committee and a Director of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, will deliver the 2008 Institution of Civil Engineering Prestige Lecture at Dundee University.
The lecture, which will be held on 18th March at 6pm, will be broadcast on new software, Interwise, over the internet. Anybody who is listening and who wants to ask a question, can type it in and it will be picked up during the lecture and asked at the end, during the Q and A session. Sir Craig will discuss the work being done in London to build facilities for the Olympics in 2012.
The ICE Prestige Lecture is an annual lecture which attracts high profile speakers from across the UK.
It is free and open to the public.
Sir Craig was a leading member of the 2012 bid team. He was educated at Stirling High School and Glasgow University before becoming a Senior Partner in for a firm of financial advisors.
Moray Newlands, Chair of the ICE Dundee Graduates and Students Committee, says, The Olympics is an iconic event. The eyes of the world will be watching the UK to see how the games are delivered over the next 4 years and this lecture will be of interest to members of the public as well as those with a technical background in engineering.
