Presentation to Dental School staff
Three members of staff from the University of Dundee Dental School - who between them have served for more than 70 years at the institution - will receive a presentation today (Thursday October 18th) to mark their early retirals.
Secretary Marie O'Brien has been with the Dental School for just under 30 years and has worked with Professors Anderson and Yemm and all current members of staff in the Unit of Restorative Dental Care and Clinical Dental Sciences. Marie has also graduated with a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the Open University.
Dr Robert Duguid, Senior Lecturer, has been in the Dental School since1973 and is the longest serving member of academic staff. His contribution to teaching and student support has been outstanding, and he has played a key role in forging links with other parts of the University, in particular with colleagues in Life Sciences and the Medical School.
Mr William Sharp, Dental Instructor, came to the University of Dundee in 1994 having worked at Edinburgh Dental School since 1980. During his time in Dundee Bill has played a full part in University life and has been a great supporter of student events. In addition, he has worked hard for a number of charitable institutions in Pakistan and Romania.
The presentation will be made today (Thursday, October 18th) at 5.15 in the Campbell Room, 1st floor, Dental School.
