A musician with cerebral palsy will launch his new CD on Thursday night
Alan is available for print / TV interviews tomorrow (TUESDAY). A spokesman for Alan is also available for radio interviews.
Alan McGregor, who is non-speaking because of his cerebral palsy, is releasing City of Dreams to help raise money for Isaac, the international organisation for non-speaking people. Sales of the CD will also benefit Children in Need and Caring for Kids.
Alan is been a long-standing research volunteer at Dundee University's School of Computing, providing a user's perspective on innovative augmentative communication systems which are being developed there.
The CD features music that Alan has composed on a computer. It will be launched on Thursday 29 November at the Invercarse Hotel at 7.30 pm. "Lots of people who know my music will be coming to the launch", said Alan, communicating with his word card, "But I am hoping that as many people as possible will be there, and that they will want to pay £7 for this CD, with the money going to these great causes. All are welcome". Alan has previously produced and released two tapes and a CD of his music.
The launch is open to the public and will feature some live music performed by Alan with his computer controlled system, and also one or two surprise performers.
