University welcomes prospective students

Wednesday March 14th, Bonar Hall, 9.45 am - Gordon Craig, Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment will be available for interview

The University of Dundee will welcome almost 400 prospective students and their families from all over the UK to the campus on Wednesday March 14th as they make their choices on where they will pursue their higher education.

The University stages visit days for all students who have been made an offer to come and study in Dundee, with Wednesday's focussed on those who are concentrating on Arts and Social Sciences.

"These are key days for us in attracting the next generation of students who will be in Dundee for the next four years," said Gordon Craig, the University’s Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment.

"We are very successful at converting these visits into firm acceptances to study at Dundee. We have a great package to offer here in Dundee, both on campus and in the city in general and we have found that it has a real impact once people get here and see it."

"Students, and increasingly their families, have a lot of questions they want answered about the courses, the facilities and what they can expect to find at university, and we do everything we can to show them all that Dundee can offer in terms of the course, the campus and the city."

The visitors can see every aspect of university life at Dundee, from the lecture theatres and research facilities to the library, Students Union and Sports Institute. Potential accommodation is also on show at one flat where a group of current students are throwing their doors open to the world to let them see how the modern student lives.

Visitors are also assigned a student ambassador to show them around the campus and teaching staff are on hand to answer any questions.
