Dr Stephen McKenna's lecture on AI in medicine & biology
School pupils from all over Tayside will be given a glimpse into the world of artificial intelligence at the University of Dundee on Monday when the School of Computing host their Christmas lectures.
The theme of this year’s lectures is "AI - for real!" and will give the pupils - from secondary schools across the region - a look at the many and varied applications for artificial intelligence.
The School of Computing is currently involved in a number of research areas where artificial intelligence is being used, including medicine, biology and assistive technology.
"Artificial intelligence is a very real force with practical applications across a vast range of areas, and we want to give school pupils an insight into how these are being developed and used," said Dr Janet Hughes, of the School of Computing.
The lectures take place on the afternoon of Monday December 17th at the Queen Mother Building at the University.
