Dundee University establishes postgraduate and final year residence

The University of Dundee is to establish a dedicated residences unit for final-year and postgraduate students at its new Seabraes complex.

The Seabraes complex has recently been extended as part of the £40million investment in new residences at the University and can now accommodate over 400 students, living on the doorstep of the main campus.

All of the new residences offer en-suite accommodation to a very high standard.

One section of the site at Seabraes now is occupied by a discrete, new block built as part of the extention of facilities. It will be reserved exclusively for those students who are in their final honours year or engaged in postgraduate study.

"Postgraduate student numbers are rising significantly at the University and we are keen to provide them with the best possible facilities,” said Margaret Wylie, the University’s Residences Officer.

"We are aware that students in their final year and postgraduate students often have different requirements to those who are just starting out on their time at University, so we are making a section of Seabraes exclusively available to them.

"We are also responding to the needs of these student groups by offering a 52-week let for the price of 45 weeks as we know that many of these students need to stay in Dundee all year round.

"Indeed we hope that many of them will choose to remain in the city and build their careers here beyond their time at University."
