Student wins award
University of Dundee PhD student, Fraser Milne, has been announced winner of the Best Paper award at the 9th Young Geotechnical Engineering Symposium.
The symposium is held every two years and brings together geotechnical engineers from academia and business to discuss new ideas and developments with the industry.
The award is made to the engineer who presents the best presentation during the symposium. Fraser Milne’s paper discussed the 2003 landslide in Glen Ogle; the causes and possible methods of protecting people from the consequences of landslides. Fraser is a 2nd year Phd student from Forfar.
He wins a trip to the European Geotechnical Engineers Symposium which will be held in Slovenia in 2007.
