Scrymgeour lecture series
Malcolm Evans OBE, Professor of Public International Law at the University of Bristol, will deliver the second in this year's series of Scrymgeour Lectures at the University of Dundee tomorrow, November 29th.
Professor Evans talk is titled, "The entry into force of the optional protocol to the UN Convention Against Torture: Problems and Prospects".
The lecture will take place on Wednesday 29th November at 4pm in the Moot Court Room, School of Law, Scrymgeour Building, University of Dundee. The lecture is free and admission is open to all.
Malcolm Evans OBE is Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at Bristol University. He was previously Head of the School from 2003-2005. He studied law at Oxford (1979-82; 1983-87). He was appointed to a lectureship at Bristol in 1988 and in 1999 was appointed Professor of Public International Law. His areas of research interest include the law of the sea and the international protection of human rights, with particular focus on the freedom of religion and the prevention of torture.
He is a member of the OSCE Advisory Panel on Freedom of Religion and Belief; the ILA Human Rights Law and Practice Committee; and the Board of Management of the Association for the Prevention of Torture.
