Exhibition runs 11 Nov - 9 Dec 2006

The garden of her 250-year-old home has provided a rich harvest for Errol artist Jackie Smith, who presents her new exhibition "Pipers Yard Relics" at the University of Dundee.

Jackie’s new body of work is inspired by a collection of mysterious artefacts, excavated from the garden of her home. The artefacts, mostly china ornaments and pieces of glass, fascinated her since the first cache was discovered shortly after she moved into the house. There are now about 60 objects.

The pieces in this exhibition fall into two categories: intricate works on hand made paper which integrate digital print and more traditional direct mark making and digital prints made using digital photography, direct scanning and Photoshop.

Jackie Smith graduated with an MFA from DJCAD in 1996, so this exhibition gives the opportunity of catching up with her practice 10 years on.

‘Pipers Yard Relics’, a solo exhibition by Errol artist Jackie Smith, opens Fri 10 Nov 6-8pm at the Bradshaw Gallery in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.

This project has been supported by Dundee Visual Artists Awards Scheme.and University of Dundee.
