Dr Keith Christie retires from the University of Dundee’s College of Life Sciences today after a career spanning 37 years.
Keith was appointed a Technical Officer in Anatomy in 1969 and after studying for an MSc and PhD was appointed as Lecturer in Anatomy in 1977. In 2002 Keith was promoted to a Senior Lectureship in the Life Sciences Teaching Unit.
Keith’s main areas of teaching and research were related to histology but he has also made a significant contribution to the teaching of gross anatomy. For many years, he was an advisor of studies and an admissions tutor, and throughout that time, student bodies have recognised and made use of his abilities as a public speaker in roles such as Honorary President of DUMS.
Dr Jim Elliott, Dean of the School of Life Sciences Learning and Teaching said "Keith has been a loyal member of staff to this College and he will be greatly missed. I am sure he will enjoy a very active retirement as he is a keen sailor and skier and we all wish him well."
Dr Elliott will present Dr Christie with a gift from his colleagues.
