Outstanding student returns for memorial lecture

Understanding aggression in boys provided the subject matter for the annual Linda Tosh memorial lecture held at the University of Dundee's psychology department today (Friday May 5).

Dundee graduate Dr Ruth Woods returned to her alma mater to give the lecture which is held every year in honour of psychology graduate Linda Tosh who died in 1980.

Now lecturing in Canterbury Dr Woods specialises in developmental psychology. Her talk focussed on understanding what motivates boys to act in an aggressive manner.

"She is one of the best students we have ever produced," said lecturer Dr Victoria Bourne. "We are very proud of her and delighted she agreed to come back to give the Linda Tosh Memorial lecture."

"The lecture is held every year in memory of Linda and aims to inspire and motivate students."
