Java online students receive awards

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Friday 12th May at 4.15pm at User Centre, Queen Mother Building, University of Dundee

The second group of school pupils, college students, teachers, and lecturers trained under a pioneering new computing course which allows distance learning and part-time study will receive their award certificates at the University of Dundee tomorrow. (May 12)

The six-week course teaches programming in Java. Unusually, all the teaching and learning materials are delivered online, via the University's virtual learning environment, Blackboard.

Students worked online with each other and with a University tutor, to learn fundamental software development skills with the popular programming language, Java.
