The wide range of innovative work being carried out by students and researchers on the University of Dundee’s engineering courses will be highlighted this week.

The annual Exhibition of Honours and Research Project Work gives undergraduate and postgraduate students in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics, the chance to display their own work.

Included in this year’s exhibition are projects dealing with everything from developing the latest flat panel displays which could replace LCD and plasma screens, to robotic units which can carry out minimally invasive surgery, to innovative methods of drug delivery.

"The annual display of the students’ project work is always exciting, and particulary so this year when we have such a strong range of projects," said Professor Merv Rose, Head of the Division of Electronic Engineering and Physics.

The show is open to the general public, as well as all students and staff of the University. Among those attending will be members of the University’s Industrial Advisory Board - mainly practising engineers and scientists from companies in the east of Scotland, who are spotting the brightest talent among students who will be looking for careers after graduation this summer.

The students’ work will be on show from 2 pm on Wednesday March 29th in the Ewing Building, Small’s Wynd.
