Putting the fun into good food
Mouthwatering fruit smoothies and perfect packed lunches will be on the menu at Harris Academy tomorrow (Thursday June 22) when researchers from the University of Dundee offer some top tips on healthy eating.
Staff from the Centre for Public Health Nutrition Research will be joining first year pupils as they take part in a health day at the school.
"We’ll be helping pupils check out the contents of various packed lunches and then showing them how to prepare some fruit smoothies which they will be able to try out and taste," explained researcher Dr Wendy Wrieden.
"We’ll also be encouraging the children to think about what, where and why they eat and exercise."
"The activities are aimed at putting the fun factor back into healthy eating and showing children that healthy food can be delicious."
Dr Wrieden and her colleagues will be at the school from 10am.
