Sheena Robinson Retires

Mrs Sheena Robinson retires from the University of Dundee’s College of Life Sciences today after a career spanning 31 years.

Sheena was first appointed as a part-time clerical assistant in the Department of Biochemistry in 1972 for the princely sum of 53p per hour. From 1977-1980 she left to work in Timex, but returned to the Department of Biochemistry as an Accounts Clerkess/Typist in 1980. In 2002 Sheena was promoted to Accounts Officer Supervisor.

Sheena was instrumental in establishing the first computer accounts database for the then Department of Biochemistry and has played a vital role in the administration of the research, class and equipment grants, which are now in excess of £25m per annum.

Professor Peter Downes, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Life Sciences said "Sheena Robinson has been a loyal member of staff to the College and will be missed by her friends and colleagues. We wish her well in her retirement"

Professor Downes will present Sheena with a gift from her colleagues.
