New writers wantedNew Writing Dundee, the creative writing magazine produced by the University, is hoping to unearth new talent for its fourth edition due to be published next year. Last year's magazine, which saw new writers published alongside renowned authors such as Kirsty Gunn, Meaghan Delahunt and Jonathan Falla, sold out after four print runs. Editor Rachel Marsh said, 'Last year's NWD proved that Dundee can attract and publish a high calibre of writing, and we hope to continue with that tradition of success in the upcoming Fourth Issue. We will again this year feature some award winning authors, but our main objective is to discover unpublished talent who need a bit of a kickstart to their careers.' 'We are strongly encouraging anyone to submit. We want to see writing of various styles, genres, subjects and voices in hopes of finding pieces which will create an anthology that is interesting to read and a credit to the Dundee publishing industry.' Submissions of stories, chapters or short drama have to be less than 3000 words with a maximum of 20 lines for poetry and must be in by 30th November. All themes and genres will be accepted and any number of pieces may be submitted. Only submissions pasted into the body of an email will be accepted as attachments will not be opened. Please send all submissions to newwritingdundee@dundee.ac.uk. Those selected for Issue 4 will be notified by the 1st of February 2009. Issue 3 still available at Dundee Borders or by contacting newwritingdundee@dundee.ac.uk. |
