New courses launched by CAIS

Two new short distance-learning courses which tap into the expanding area of family and local history were launched by the Centre for Archive and Information Studies at a major local history fair in London.

Staff from CAIS attended the Who Do You Think You Are Live-2008 event which was held over three days at the Olympia in London.

As well as attracting potential students the CAIS stall was visited by a number of celebrities including Peter and Dan Snow, the father and son broadcasters who presented one of the University's popular Saturday Evening Lectures earlier this year and Nick Barratt, star of TV shows including the House Detective and Who Do You Think You Are?

The new courses offer students the opportunity to learn how to find and use records and archives to investigate the hidden stories in family histories

Family and Local History: Beyond the Internet Introductory and Advanced courses are delivered online.
