Learning technologist wins trio of honours
The creation and development of innovative learning systems has won learning technologist Hannah Whaley two major awards and endorsement by one of the world's leading learning software companies.
Hannah, based in the University's Learning Centre, is the first winner of the UK Learning Technologist of the Year Award. She was also a winner in the most recent round of Honorary Graduate Awards for Innovative Teaching thanks to her Groupwork Assessment System which helps students peer assess their colleagues' teamworking skills.
The Applied Computing graduate has seen another self and peer assessment tool she devised adopted by Blackboard, a leading learning software company with a worldwide client base.
"The University of Dundee partnered with Blackboard to release the Self and Peer Assessment software and it is now embedded in their learning system," said Hannah.
"It's really exciting to see work we're doing here having an impact in a wider context. We have a growing strength here in elearning and that is being achieved through working closely with staff and students."
