RSE honour for Professor Hayes

Professor John Hayes, Deputy Director of the Biomedical Research Centre, has been elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Professor Hayes holds the Chair of Molecular Carcinogenesis within the School of Medicine. His research includes looking at ways in which drugs and dietary components influence susceptibility to degenerative diseases such as cancer.

Professor Hayes is a member of the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) College of Experts and is a former member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Association for International Cancer Research from 1998 to 2001.
