EXHIBITIONS
1 March - 14 May : The Tate Triennial

Every three years Tate Britain holds a Triennial exhibition showcasing new developments in recent art. This third Tate Triennial 2006 is curated by Beatrix Ruf, Director of the Kunsthalle in Zurich, who offers an international perspective on the present British art scene. She has brought together thirty-six artists who all explore a significant strand in contemporary art: the reuse and recasting of cultural material.
Six of the artists selected to exhibit in The Tate Triennial are graduates of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. Read more about these artists and the exhibition on page 17 of the current issue of Contact. Some of the images from the exhibition are presented on these pages.

9 March - 29 April : Timex - A History of Struggle
Looking at the disputes of 1983 and 1991, this exhibition recounts the Timex
protests through documents, audio and video from the time and artefacts used and gathered by Timex workers in their campaign. Put together by ex-Timex workers and former shop stewards.

17 March - 25 April : Love & War - The Trunk
This exhibition includes items recovered from a trunk that lay untouched for more than 30 years and contains a wealth of material about John Wylie's life from his childhood, through his student days, the war and his family.

11 March - 15 April : dp003 - converse without leaving home
disparc is University of Dundee Exhibitions Department's own studio art and music label. dp003 is the third disparc project. This audio art exhibition showcases the sound works of six Scottish and six Toronto-based artists. The exhibition is accompanied by the release of the sound works in a limited edition audio CC and fanzine.

13 May - 3 June : A Poetic Revolt: The Poetics of Installation
DJCAD Interior and Environmental Design lecturer Brigid Collins, along with Dr Valerie Robillard (University of Groningen, The Netherlands) extend their research into the ways in which poetic composition can inspire 2d and 3d works through a response to form and image. The exhibition is the result of a series of workshops conducted with DJCAD students, which saw them exploring exciting and innovative approaches to the design of interior architectural space, using the structure and feeling of poetry as their starting point. This exhibition accompanies the Scottish Word and Image Group's annual conference at University of Dundee.
