Let's get physical
The Institute of Sport and Exercise is encouraging children to get active, with an ongoing
programme of sports sessions throughout the year and during the school holidays.
Children's Programme Coordinator Hazel Ednie is encouraging children to come along to the next
holiday sessions. She says, "The Children's Easter Programme is the perfect antidote to the
seasonal Easter deluge of eggs and all things chocolate."
The courses will include: Funfit Club, Junior Sports, trampoline coaching, street dance, Playfit
and NRG Max. Running from 4 - 15 April, the courses cater for children between the ages of 3 and
16.
Applications for children’s courses are available from the Institute of Sport and Exercise from 18
February. For more details contact: Hazel on 345177 or at h.c.ednie@dundee.ac.uk
The children's classes are just one part of the ISE's programme. Hazel says, "If you had
increasing your exercise quota on your list of New Year's resolutions, or even if you're just
interested in coming along to see what's on offer, we have a wide range of classes and facilities
for all abilities."
University solicitor Stewart Brymer is enthusiastic about the classes for adults at the ISE. He
says, "One of the main attractions of the Institute is the quality of the instructors and the
genuine team spirit that is obvious from the very first time you join a class.
"Everyone is made to feel very welcome, and above all, exercise becomes fun. You have nothing to
lose and everything to gain. Come along and see for yourself. If a middle-aged solicitor can do
it surely you can!
