Forging links with alumni in Hong Kong
As part of the ongoing initiatives to re-engage with graduates of the University, Dianne
Pemberton-Pigott, Head of Alumni Relations, travelled to Hong Kong to represent the University at
an alumni event.
Some 200 Dundee alumni are currently living in Hong Kong and around 20 of them attended a drinks
reception hosted by Dianne and Gordon Craig of Admissions and Student Recruitment, who both gave
short presentations on recent progress at the University.
Dianne explains, "The purpose of the visit was to build relationships with alumni, and encourage
them to become involved in the Hong Kong alumni group. Alumni are our best ambassadors, and they
can play a key role in the overseas recruitment process by recommending Dundee to prospective
students."
The alumni event coincided with a UK education fair that was being held in Hong Kong. Six alumni
spent time at the education fair speaking to prospective students.
Dianne added, "As we encourage alumni to be ambassadors for the University and to recommend Dundee
to prospective students, this was an ideal opportunity to fulfil the needs of both alumni and the
University."
