Fulbright for DJCAD alumnus
A former DJCAD student has just become the first ever graduate of the college to receive a
highly prestigious Fulbright Postgraduate Scholarship. Simon Reekie, who was awarded a first class
degree in fine art in 2004, was the only artist to receive a scholarship from Fulbright this
year.
Simon's award will enable him to spend a year of postgraduate study in the US. Since graduating
last year, he has established a reputation as an up and coming Scottish artist. His work was
recently exhibited as part of 'The Scottish Show' in London, alongside work by renowned Scottish
artists such as Peter Howsen, Adrian Wisznisky, Jack Vettriano and Steven Campbell.
