Buchanan medal

David Lane has received the Buchanan Medal from the Royal Society, in recognition of his discovery of the p53 protein and the subsequent research which this has enabled into finding new treatments for cancer.

The award is made biennially in recognition of distinguished contributions to the medical sciences.
