Medical education by distance learning
The University's Centre for Medical Education has collaborated with the Royal College of General
Practitioners to establish a new distance-learning package, that allows GPs and other members of the primary
healthcare team to study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education in General Practice.
The course has been designed specifically for those involved in primary healthcare teaching or training to
help them improve their knowledge and skills as teachers and to have a better understanding of education and
curriculum development.
Dr Margery Davis, Head of the Centre for Medical Education said, "This is an exciting opportunity for GPs and
other members of the primary healthcare team to obtain a university qualification in teaching that will
enhance their credibility as a teacher."
