Appointment at CEPMLP
The Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) has appointed Israeli Dr Moshe Hirsch
as a part-time Principal Research Fellow and a member of its global faculty.
Dr Hirsch, who holds the Arnold Brecht Chair in European Law at the Faculty of Law of the Hebrew University
of Jerusalem and also serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty, is a specialist in international economic law.
He is widely known for, amongst others, his research on the application of Game Theory to the study of
International Law in general and the Middle East in particular.
Philip Andrews Speed says, "It is no coincidence that Professor Hirsch is appointed at a time when CEPMLP's
newest LLM programme in International Business Transactions is beginning to flourish."
At CEPMLP, Professor Hirsch will initially teach a seminar in comparative law, covering the theoretical and
practical issues pertaining to developing countries and the international legal/economic system. This will
give CEPMLP students the opportunity to benefit from Professor Hirsch's widely-recognised expertise in the
application of economic theory to an understanding of international and regional economic arrangements and
institutions as well as his vast experience and expertise in the field of international trade and investment
dispute settlement.
