Four of the most talented poets on the British and Scottish poetry scene are reading their work in Dundee this month hosted by Colette Bryce and Dundee Contemporary Arts.
Kathleen Jamie, lecturer in creative writing at the University of St Andrews and celebrated Dundonian poet and musician Don Paterson will read their latest poems at the meeting room at DCA on Thursday 20 February at 7.30pm. At the same time on Wednesday 12 March, the net is cast wider to welcome Kate Clanchy, winner of a Forward prize and a Saltire prize for Scottish first book of the year, and Paul Farley, Sunday Times young writer of the year in 1988 and another Forward prize winner.
Colette Bryce said: "I'm delighted to be able to invite some of the most talented poets of the new generation to read for us here in Dundee. Kathleen Jamie and Don Paterson have a long association with the University and Kate Clanchy and Paul Farley are rising stars among the younger British poets. Hopefully, these events will see the start of an ongoing series. The collaboration with DCA presents a great opportunity to reach a wide audience from the city as well as from the University. Admission is £3.50 and £2 for students and concessions. DCA box office 01382 909900.
