Skiers from the University Sports Union came 1st in the women's Giant Slalom and 3rd in the women's Slalom at a recent universities' league competition held in Edinburgh. The team is now well on the way to nationwide success and are looking to secure a position in the top 20 - from a total 130 British universities.
Louise Hartley - last year crowned University of Dundee Sportswomen of the Year after scooping two gold medals in skiing - won 1st place in the women’s Giant Slalom and 3rd in the women's Slalom last weekend. Mairi Crawford came in 2nd and 4th place.
Sports Union President Beth Gibson said, "This is a great triumph so early in the season, and hopes are high for the rest of the year. The University of Dundee will be moving up the British rankings as a result of these successes, a sure sign of the excellence and dedication in sport that the University nurtures."
In March, the women's skiing team will take part in the Alpine competition in Les Deux Alpes, France, where they are set to pick up more points.
