Richard Campbell, Director of the Careers Service, and Robin Walker, Director of Finance, will be retiring in December.
Richard has been with the University for over 30 years. He is well known and respected around campus for his way with words and his good sense of humour. He will be remembered by students past and present for his readiness to help make the transition from university to working life as smooth as possible. His retirement will be marked by a 'farewell presentation' in the Careers Service on 18 December at 4.00pm, to which all friends and colleagues are invited.
Robin joined the University in 1986. When he started work here the Finance Office was a very different place. In his role, Robin has 'professionalised' the Finance Office and has implemented imaginative and prudent funding schemes for some of the University's major strategic developments during the past 17 years. His knowledge and experience has been extremely valuable to the University and his opposite numbers at other Universities often seek his advice and comment on financial issues.
