Four join Royal Society

Four esteemed academics from the University of Dundee have been elected to Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE).

Professor of Mathematical Biology Mark Chaplain, Professor of Civil Engineering Michael Davies, Professor of Structural Biology Bill Hunter and Professor of Modern History Chris Whatley are among 60 individuals elected in recognition of outstanding contributions to their field and achievement in public service.

University Principal Sir Alan Langlands said, "The election of these academics to the respected position of Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh rightfully recognises the valuable research work in which they are involved. Not only is this a wonderful personal achievement, it is also yet another clear signal that the calibre of research carried out in a diversity of fields at the University of Dundee is amongst the highest in the country."
