Mike Stubbs and Gina Czarnecki from DJCAD have been selected to take up a prestigious fellowship at Canada’s Banff Centre.
Working together, they will take up one of 15 Fleck Fellowships, which have been awarded to artists, composers, musicians, writers and dancers from the UK and USA, allowing them to develop their practices and careers.
Gina, who runs the MSc course in Electronic Imaging and Mike, who is a senior research resident at DJCAD with be joining a diverse group of artists from an aboriginal vocal women’s ensemble to an art critic and psychoanalyst. Their project explores the phenomenon of branding of cities, both as a strategy of marketing and regeneration.
The artists will create a new film/ video work and an interactive web-based artwork on this theme.
