Professorship in Belfast
Dr Julie Taylor from the school of nursing and midwifery has been appointed to a visiting professorship at Queen's University, Belfast to foster the participation of women in academic study. Julie's research interest is at the interface of health and social care with an emphasis on child protection.
Julie will spend four weeks over the next twelve months at Queen's mentoring staff and post-graduate students, lecturing on her research and taking part in their seminar series.
Julie hopes that she will be able to develop joint research proposals between the University of Dundee and Queens increasing both universities' research profiles and possibly initiating exchanges and studentships.
She said: "This is an exciting opportunity for research and scholarship. I am looking forward to working with some of the world leaders in nursing."
Professor Sheila Hunt, dean of the school of nursing and midwifery said: "Julie's professorship is a very significant achievement and worthy of congratulations. The school is proud that one of its staff members has achieved this recognition."
