White Top ties Lynne Turner, a third year ceramics student and Charlotte Cadzow, a technician in the ceramics department have just completed a project with service users from the White Top centre making neckties from clay.
The group looked at a range of ties, what they say about the wearer and how many different designs can be worn. Their collection of clay and felt ties are now on display in the McManus Galleries as part of the Coming to our Senses exhibition.
Cluny Barrowman, art therapist at the White Top Centre said: "It is important that the people who use the White Top centre should be involved in a creative process. Clay is a fantastic medium becuase it is sensory. It engages not only people's aesthetic sense but also creates an intimate experience as it is so sensitive to touch."
