New Principal will "build on excellence"
Sir Alan Langlands, chief executive of the NHS
in England will become the fifth Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Dundee
when he takes up the post on 1 September. The appointment was announced on 21 February after
special meetings of Senate and Court unanimously ratified the decision of the appointing
committee. Glasgow-born Sir Alan takes over on the retirement of Dr Ian Graham-Bryce after six years in the post.
